The CMSIntelligence team made their way to Toronto yesterday to attend the Telus Small Business Challenge finalist presentation event at the Telus Innovation Centre.
Why did we make the trek to the big city? Well... we had a great reason.
With over 1,000 submissions from businesses across this fine country, one of our clients – Welland-based Imbiber Beads (Imbibitive Technologies Inc.) – made it to the final 4.
Very, very, very exciting!
Telus assembled a panel of 4 judges and each company had 5 minutes to explain their business and how the grand prize of $100,000 would help them grow. Kind of a Dragon’s Den type of scenario.
All 4 finalists had great business ideas and great stories. Each of them had already overcome significant business challenges and had magnificent visions for the future.
Needless to say, however, we were especially proud of Imbibitive. They are poised and ready to take on the world with a unique solution for cleaning up oil spills of any size and keeping waste oil out of our water…. and they looked damn smart doing it on Thursday morning!!
We salute the entire Imbibitive Technologies team: CEO, John Brinkman, CFO and VP Operations, Bruno Iafrate, and marketing wunderkind, Alan Grawey.
They did a great job representing their company, as well as Innovation in Niagara, at the Telus Small Business Challenge.
