Last week, the Globe and Mail printed an article about Facebook reporting significant increases in its advertising revenue over last years numbers.
The article was about what segment of Facebook's business grew the fastest. Interestingly enough, it was ads designed to be viewed on mobile devices. This makes perfect sense. In fact there's a 50% chance that you're actually reading this article from your mobile device right now.
How do we know that? Because we shared this post on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. It doesn't take a genius to recognize that many of our friends and followers would be reading this from their mobile devices.
Web searches on mobile devices have skyrocketed over the past 5 years. We personally believe it's even more than 33% but according to Search Engine Land 25% of all web searches are done on a mobile device of some sort. (That was back in January, but we did say it's skyrocketing and by now it's out of this world.)
The important thing is this: Facebook is reporting that it's deriving more of it's revenue from mobile ads and that represents the fastest growing segment of their revenue streams.
What does this mean for your business?
Now even small businesses can 'run with the big dogs' in social media and mimic what large corporate advertisers are doing by making their company's website responsive to the device customers are using to find you.
If more and more of your customers are using mobile devices to find your business, make sure your website looks professional whether they are using a desktop, tablet or smart phone when they search for you.
Want to know if your website looks great to someone looking for your product or service away from their home?
Go to your website and grab the bottom right corner of the web browser. Pull the corner up and over to the left and make it the size of a smart phone or tablet. If your company name – Joe's Widgets, for example – plus your address and phone number, turns into "Jo" with 905 under it and an address that says 15 Al,............, it means you don't have a responsive site, and your potential customers are not having a great experience when visiting your site. Instead they may be leaving to visit your competitor site.
CMSIntelligence creates responsive websites so that your company will look professional no matter what type of devices your future or existing customers are using to find you, and at a price that won't break the bank.
It doesn't take a genius to recognize intelligence, so we know you're probably seeing the value of designing your website so that it is responsive and viewable on a mobile device.
